We have been in talks with scream queen Tiffany Shepis for the next Deadlands project. Tiffany was given the script and absolutely feel in love with it and is ready to do some zombie ass kicking in the very near future. We are in the process of locking down her services for the entire film.

As things begin to turn again with the films budget, we expect to begin filming the next Deadlands film in Spring 2009. Right now the film is going through budget projection, and the script will most likely get a quick re-write to change some of the characters around.

I'm not particularly familiar with her, but dizamn if she isn't fit-as!

Google is your friend. ;)

She's been in a whole shedload of flicks by her IMDb page, including a bunch of Troma's stuff. Ooh, and she appears in this "Zombthology" thing that the short version of "Trapped" is in on...ahhhhhhh. :)

And I thought you were saying, Deej, that Trapped was gonna be your last zombie film for a while? :sneaky:

So is that gonna be Deadlands 2 proper, or is it gonna be a bit like Evil Dead 2 whereby the first film is sort of re-made in the first act and then pretty much what was/is the sequel happens afterwards?

I did. But I still don't know who she is. Looks like she's done some Skinemax porn and some b-movies, but i've never heard of her.

Her most notable film to date would likely be Rolfe Konisky's (*sp) Nightmare Man which was featured in last years "8 Films to Die For".

DJ, be sure to post this at Deadpit. They'll be psyched over there.

Hey MZ,

We are doing the Evil Dead 2 approach for Deadlands: The New World, which we just call Deadlands 3, which is what it will be referred to as from now on. However, we are only going to revisit key items from the original film, not so much the original characters.

Trapped, for its extended release will be Deadlands 2: Trapped.

And tonight I just talked with a group of people about doing a Vampire project, so it looks like Night Fall is coming out from under the bed to be revisited.

I am also going to shoot a short film called Unconditional Love this summer, which is about two people discussing in narrative form, what it means how we say we give it, but in the end the love we give to someone else really is Conditional.

*ahem* Who is Tiffany Shepis?:shifty:

one Foxy hot MAMA! :D

You get to see her in bra and Panties in ZOMBTHOLOGY drenched in Blood. YAY!

So there's Deadlands, there's Trapped (short), Trapped (long) as Deadlands 2, then there's Deadlands: The New World, which was Deadlands 2, but is now Deadlands 3 ... ... *head explodes*

...me confoozed...:confused::D

From a marketing stand point it is better to called the film Deadlands 2: Trapped as opposed to just Trapped. Deadlands: The Rising continues to be Tempe's top selling DVD, and it has grown a very small but loyal following of people who really dig the film, so it is better to just market Trapped as a part of the Deadlands series, although it really is a separate entity...like Dawn is really separate from Night etc etc.

The premise of Trapped is very similar to Deadlands 1, however it explores the story from a more claustrophobic point of view as opposed to the open road feel of Deadlands: The Rising.

Deadlands 3, will more or less go back to the open road feel of Deadlands 1, however, many modifications are being made to the story to remove some of the characters from Deadlands 1, except for Dave and one other person. When the script was originally drafted for what was to be the sequel to Deadlands 1, I brought back everyone from the first film, for the first 15 pages, during the re-write by writer/director Lonnie Martin, he tweaked the story a bit and brought more character development into the story. Lonnie and I talked recently and feel the story as a whole should stay the same, but will just change the characters around, but have it refer to the original cause of the zombie uprising as it was in Deadlands 1.

However,... Deadlands 3 will not be my next film. I was serious when I said I want to do something else before I do another zombie film. Which is why I am working on a drama about the definition of Unconditional Love.

We expect to start rolling on Deadlands 3 around the spring or Summer of 2009.

Aye, I can certainly understand the marketing side of things. I don't think anyone can hold that against you, and if they do - they're lame! :D

At an indie level, use anything and everything you can to your advantage, that's what I say...from now on. :)

Thanks Jdog...

Tiffany is also in the ZOMBthology project, and was a real sweetheart. Nothing like a hot chick covered in blood to make a man happy.

We really hope to get things rolling soon, and things are looking better and better by the minute.

My agent is working on a deal with some producers right now, which may give us a nice budget. I figured with what is in the script, the amount of VFX work needed, cast, locations, 300+ extras to play zombies, crew... we could easily do this for about $3,000,000.00. However, if we get less some things will have to come out of the script, but At $3,000,000 we can shoot on film, but thats no biggie for me, I am really taking a liking to shooting on the Genesis or Cinealta camera systems.

We should know more in the next 10-15 days. I will keep you guys posted.
