Okay, the movie itself came out a few years ago but it was only recently that I rented, watched, and got plastered while watching House of the Dead. Now, I remember playing the arcade game when it came out in the 90's. I loved it. Zombies, zombie slugs, zombie frogs, zombie midgets w/ knives on their hands...it was awesome.

I rented the movie with high hopes.

My God how I was dissappointed. An hour and a half of 2-dimensional characters, bad dialogue, bad acting and a plot that made no freakin' sense. The prosthetics on many of the ghouls looked like what you should expect from a high school play. The story itself had absolutely nothing to do with the games or the story line the game established. (Not entirely a bad thing, but still.)

It starts out with a rave which is the excuse for non-gratis, gratuitous breasts. (Again, not neccessarily a bad thing but its a ZOMBIE movie not a porno.)

The most inexcusable action was, as part of the film's special effects and as a transition from one scene to another the director used screen shots from the game.

Okay, I guess where I'm finally going with this is I've seen a few crap-ass zombie movies in my time. I see a lot about the good (G.A.R.) zombie films on the forums but not alot about the bad ones. What are some crappy zombie movies everyone else has seen. Including House of the Dead 2 (which was better but still crap) and Zombie Honeymoon.

Watched the movie on Sci-Fi last night. Next to the USA original "Wolf Girl" I place this movie into the list of all time classics. It was one of the best 2 hours of my life. I highly suggest that you not rent, but purchase this movie. The dvd will be a collectors item. Ron Howards brother should have won a SAG or Globe for his performance.

Gotta go my wife read this is and she is really ****ed. I don't care what she says I am not lying to you.

I tried watching it on Sci Fi lastnight. I tried valiantly...

There's so little to be said about House of the Dead, as so much accurate & suitably horrible things have already been mentioned about the film.

House of the dead was a strange movie to be sure

the idea of a rave island with the undead ruling it is a bit much
especailly the ending where the millitary come in knowing
that the place is crawling withn zombies

if this was the case why not keep it off limits
or go in and eradicate them
or use it as a scientific zone

the effects were awful

but it did have some good parts too

not the best movie
but worth a view if you are a zombie fan

The crime of this movie is the fact that it's 90 minutes of my life that were wasted & that I'll never get back :|. I think I would have been better off slamming my head against a wall for the 90 minutes. It would have been time better spent.

Uwe Boll thinks critics are too harsh on him. He stated this at the Stockholm Film Festival. He also stated that he doesn't care about who stars in his films, and that they are assigned by the studios.

Does he even know what the film industry is all about. Better yet, does he even comprehend the reasoning why critics are harsh on him about his films. Sometimes, I would laugh at Uwe Boll's many excuses for not wanting to actually learn how to improve at his craft, but most of the time I just pity the poor man.

In all honesty, I think the guy has no real interest in the art of filming, but he keeps getting movie offers so he keeps making movies.

No, he keeps making movies due to weird tax loopholes in German and the UK.

indeed. this has to be one the worst zombie movies - no, strike that, worst movies ever. the inclusion of game footage into it has to be on the stupidest moves ever in the world of film.

what court order was jurgen prochnow obeying? his involvement in this piece of tripe is puzzling.
