WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?????!!!!
Paul Rogers replaces Freddy "The Best Voice in Rock and Roll" Mercury?????? (may he rest in peace)

That's like replacing George Clinton (of George Clinton and the Parliment Funkadelic) with Regis Philbin!!!!

I watched about 15 minutes of this trash. Anyone else see it?

I heard about this yesterday and figured it would be awful.

They should have gotten Annie Lennox to front Queen.

This happened at least a year ago. I think Paul Rogers is awesome, but you just can't replace Freddy Mercury with anyone. Both guys are one of a kind. I think Queen should be out of it forever, like the Bee Gees are, because the only cool one died.

But replacing Mercury with Rogers would be like trying to replace Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers or anybody in Jefferson Starship (*cough*Damn you, Mickey Thomas*cough*).

I hate it when bands come back after a major member dies, because they're never anything remotely good...

Oh, Annie would have been the perfect choice! I've seen her a few times LIVE and that woman can stand the hair on the back of your neck up on endl; in fact, I had a few hairs jump out of my skin and dance.

When I watched that Concert for Life or whatever it was called, Extreme played a queen medley... Goddamn, Gary Cherone sounded almost spot on, at least 100x better than Rodgers...

The reason I suggested Annie Lennox was because she sang with Queen at that same concert and it worked very well. She sang "These are the days of our lives" and damn it it sounded good, similar vocal range as Freddie.

I'll give it to you, Cheronne wasn't that bad, but I thought even George Michael was better than him as a frontman for queen.

Are you all mad....Annie sucked when she sang 'These are the days...'

NO ONE and i mean NO ONE is allowed to sing ANY Queen song EVER unless of course its the greatest thing to ever grace this earth (other then Jesus)...i mean Freddie by the way ;)

Queen ROCKED and they still ROCK....

I grew up listening to Queen so I have a very big soft spot for all the guys!

Robbie Williams sounded ok singing 'We Are The Champions'....and George wernt too bad singing at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert but still....NO!!

We just pretend the whole Paul Rodgers thing hasnt happened!

Wait. Was Concert for Life the tribute concert just after Freddy Mercury died? I still have that on VHS somewhere, I think... Now that was a good show. Come to think of it, I still can't find my CD of Queen live...

Anyway, I didn't hear anything about Queen re-taking to the road, though I'm not surprised I didn't know about it (I have my head in the ground when it comes to music news, unfortunately)

Yes that is the one. It is available on DVD but unfortunately, it is only the Queen portion of the show. I would have liked to have had the rest of the performances included.

queen without mercury isnt a good idea

robert plant said it best at the tribute when he listened to others try to sing his songs
"there will never be another freddy"
paul rodgers was great in bad co
he quit the band after lennon got shot
he then worked with page for a while

but if you want to see something cool
get your hands on the dvd of the US festival from 85
and check out queens performance on that
it is worth the price of the whole disc
