Although the commercials for this flick imply a Species ripoff, it apparently isn't. My wife saw it last weekend and loved it although there were some disturbing layers to the film she almost wished she hadn't seen.

I plan on seeing it this weekend. Has anyone else watched it yet?

not yet but my interest has been peaked for this for a year or so. no idea when and if its getting a release over here but it looks like the idea of species- minus the porn.

I hadn't heard about this flick until a few days ago when I saw an ad on the web, but it looks kinda cool. I like Brody as well, so that makes my interest go up a bit.

Is this gettting a wide or limited theatrical release? Like I said, I haven't heard much about it so I assumed I would have to wait for DVD.

It's playing consistently around Baltimore at the multiplex's. I think it is cool the main characters are named Clive and Ilsa (after the actors that played Victor Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein.)

Only 13 million grossed so far.
Wonder no more why Hollywood does so many remakes. :|

i watched this earlier and honestly its kind of bland. it takes the species idea and does little with it. they hide her in a room. then she gets older and they move to another room, they repeat this a few times and lead up to the inevitable ending followed by the dun-dun-dun tweest.

I think the idea keeps people watching but essentially its just a couple keeping there secret child hidden away from the world and its really just boring.

Saw Splice this weekend. Delphine Chanéac was awesome as "Dren", but Sarah Polley and Adrien Brody are bland actors, IMO, and there wasn't enough to the plot. 5/10. :|

Well its hard to make a killing when the promotion for the film was so bad that people don't even know that its out yet.

Roger Ebert gave it a pretty good review/
