My birthday is on Saturday, and I uh have a bit of a gaming problem.

I have raised enough for a 360(475 for a premium and oblivon) but If I get that, I get one new system and one game.

Or I could simply get roughly 30 used x-box one games(at 15 bucks a pop roughly) and a new controller(I still have the huge controller that came with my x-box)

And before you say get a PC game insted... I have a 999 mhz PC with a 512 mb ram, and a 16 meg tnt2. So PC games really arn't that big of a option.

So..Next gen or current?

Go with the next gen. This is the final year of the Xbox, with very few new games coming out. The integration of Xbox Live with the 360 is incredible, and is worth the money for that alone. Plus you get Xbox Live arcade, downloadable demos, movie previews, game trailers, etc.

i say dont bother, save yor money and buy a few good grade a xbox games and play them. if you dont have xbox live, indulge yourself. yea the x360 is the newest thing, but really the games are ok at best if not flat out crap .

if it helps i bought and sold mine , not worth the price tag.

I picked up the 360 a few ago and have played it a total of one time. There aren't many good games for it. I have Brother in Arms 2 and Blazing Angels and neither is really as good as I thought they'd be. Certainly not worth the $60 I paid for them.

Pick up regular Xbox games. Save your money for when they actually have something worth buying.

Brothers in Arms hasnt been released for Xbox 360, are you sure you didnt buy the Xbox version? And Blazing Angels is perhaps the worst game for the system. There are plenty of great games that cover most of the genres:
The Elder Scrolls IV (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/927345.asp?q=elder%20scrolls)
PGR3 (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/927245.asp)
Fight Night Round 3 (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/930863.asp?q=fight%20night%20round%203)
Dead or Alive 4 (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/928260.asp)
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/926971.asp?q=ghost%20recon)
Perfect Dark Zero (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/516508.asp?q=perfect%20dark)
Call of Duty 2 (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/927725.asp?q=call%20of%20duty%202)
Condemned (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/926309.asp?q=condemned)
Not to mention you can get awesome arcade games like Geometry Wars (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/930851.asp). Pick what you will but I believe the 360 is a better investment. Dead Rising is coming out this summer, that should be reason enough!:D

tough choice if youve got live id say get a 360 ,especially if you have games like halo 2 allready , but if not id spend a quater on games (gamestation does 4 for £20) so id save a little longer for a 360 ,this way youve got some new games to tide you over.
