OK, I admit, I am old. And I need some help. I am wondering where to find good indie music for free to use in movies and such?

Do you have any bands you can recommend that would submit music to a zombie movie?

Post an ad in community message boards.

Just put out a call for music from local bands, witht he sound you are looking for. Have them sign a waiver of use for the music, and make sure secure Distribution and DVD rights to the music.

Don't offer anything on the backend unless you know for sure you can come through.

Pistolero : What is it you are looking for exactly? If you can give me some specific information, i might be able to hook you up with what you need.

DJ : I am all finished on your OST, but not sure if you are going to forward me some more footage which has been finished/edited or you just want this score "as it is" ... the deadline for this was march right?

go to a local about average college , no prestigous ones as you wont find what your after, put up ads for wanted bands/ musicians ect. and youll get some good stuff as well as a lot of bad, but they will try harder than people in posh sorta colleges and work for less, lol.

Thanks for the advice and the offer,

I am looking for music that moves one emotionally. I am trying to stay clear of the typical death metal brain bashing music.

It could be any genre actually.

Nice. I will see what we have for music in a short bit and may want to pick up your CD and use it for ambience.

Thanks!

No problem. I can always "tweek" or customise an already existing piece of audio to suit your own needs at a later date IF you decide to use it (IE-make it shorter, longer, add new sounds, strip down existing sounds etc etc), but i think the Alpha_Dog : Black Corpse Transmissions V1.3 CD would provide you with just about all the dark ambience you could ever need for a short or full length experimental film.
