Yay! I finally found the extremely rare front cover art from John Russo's "Return Of The Living Dead" book!

Why am I so excited? From memory this zombie art makes Dr. Tongue look like Mary Poppins, you need to see it close up to appreciate it :D - I remember jumping with fright when my dad threw this book at me 20 years ago!!! :o

Any of you remember this dude? If you have a better scan, can you post it?

I'm awaiting on a scan of the book from another source. As soon as I get the scan, I'll post it here.

Cheers,
S.

Is it a different story line, or is it a continuation of night?

Cool find though...

Indeed, this "Return" is a direct sequel to "Night of the living dead". It is set 10 years after the zombie outbreak in Night.

Even though this book lifts word for word much from "Night of the living dead" for flashback sequences, this book still rocks and I wish someone had made it into a film - 20 years ago. Nowadays I don't get scared by zombie movies (one of the downsides of adulthood :D )

Be careful if looking on Amazon or Ebay for this book. There are two versions of the Return Of The Living Dead book, and confusingly both are written by John Russo!!!

This one classic Romero flesh eaters)

and the one based on the film (BRAAAINNNNSSSS!!!)

Both are excellent reads.

Right, I have a hi-res scan of the cover.

Neil, can you move this to your memorabilia section as this image is as rare as hell!!! :D

it has been re issued with a different cover and
i bought it not too long ago

the main charecter is the sherriff from night
and it involves some hoodlums kidnapping a family to rob them and zombies getting in the way of everything and everybody

it is an interesting read and russo put some
sick ideas into it but it is no way better than dawn as a sequel

Supply and demand....

I have looked for the original version of Return, but all I have found is the book based on the movie. There is a used book store not to far from me, I am going to check there next.
