Reminds me of Prey, but this does look pretty sweet.

I can't imagine the amount of bugs this will throw up or the amount of ways you can get yourself stuck.

On one hand it's a clever premise, and it could be fun.

on the otherhand, it's valve. and so much of the enviroment and tech looks ripped off from Doom3, while the portal gun is sort of a rip on the gravity gun from Half life 2.

lets face it its just an upgraded gravity gun, i heard this was origionally gonna be an ep of half life 2 with fortress free. but if its stand a lone it looks good just nothing to rush out and buy.:bored:

Yeah, that's got the smell of Prey stamped all over it, but they've gone further by the looks of things (although I haven't played Prey yet). Although guaranteed that game will get old fairly swiftly and will also end up getting incredibly confusing, what's wrong with a good old machine gun ... blast yourself a hole in a wall. :lol:

A bit of a change of pace really, after Doom 3 ROE's version of the grav gun (although it was going to be in Doom 3, they took it out, so it's technically not a copy, just a co-inky-dink). "Portal" looks like the sort of game that would be good for a play for a while, but then it'd just get boring after that while...hmmm.

i agree i honestly thought it was just an ep of half life some kinda vortigaunt upgrade to the gravity gun, it doesnt deserve its own $60 game in my opinion novel as it is.

Isn't it just going to be an additional "bonus", which comes along with Episode Two (Team Fortress 2 is going to be bundled in with Ep 2 as well from what I remember reading over on ActionTrip.com). They couldn't possibly sell "Portal" as an actual game, the premise in itself wouldn't warrant a full game. Just imagine the plot ... there'd be none! :D

Look at Red Faction. it sold a ton of copies, but had absolutely no plot to speak of.
