I haven't heard anything, but i'm going to say probably not, I will ask Ken at Horrorfind but he hasn't done a Pittsburgh show since 2003 and i think its a promoter thing, but that may change, none of the big big names do that show and mostly for the same reason, it may change like i said but i'm not holding my breath

If the Pittsburgh Comicon doesn't have a 30th Anniversary of Dawn of the Dead celebration in 2008, they would be ****ing idiots. I went to the 25th anniversary celebration in 2003 and it was awesome.

Although I don't like to consider myself a fanboy, I'd probably make the pilgrimage to Pittsburgh if that happened.

That way, I could get all the autographs and toys and whatnot...and also be able to see the sites--to me, it wouldn't make sense to go up there and just get one or the other.

Agreed.

honestly though of the organizers i met (who were all really nice) there was a high level of disorganization. so i can understand if there is an issue with the organizers why people wouldn't want to appear in 2008.

Don't get overly excited, but "we" are attempting to get something together. Nothing concrete as of yet.

The Comicon folks have provided some cool events in the past, but they have trouble getting their stuff together, and they are dishonest. It'd be in the fans best interest to avoid the Comicon folks.

I would find it very hard to believe if the cast and crew didn't reform for Dawn's 30th.

30 years? S**T has it been that long?

Anyone here attending should get a HPOTD t-shirt from Neil's Cafe Press Store and wear it so that everyone would know who is who or to some degree.

I remember finding Monrozombi and his girlfriend at the 25th reunion just with a chance walk-by in the mall after all the hoopla during normal business hours. It was pretty cool to meet someone from online and I knew it was him by his picture.

I asked Ken Foree about it at Screamfest and he said he doubts the mall will let it happen again.

Yeah, I've lived by the Monroeville Mall my entire life and they've never been too thrilled to be the "Dawn of the Dead Mall".

So I'm thinking Ken isn't bull****ting on that.

It all comes down to money, my friends. I'm not making negative commentary about the Comicon people, the Dawn celebrities, or anyone else. It is simply the truth; if you have the money to pay everyone involved to appear and participate AND cover all the costs of renting the convention center AND pay for the mall tour and the airport tour, AND all the other crap, then you'll have yourself a convention.

It is entirely possible to do this, but it requires massive knowledge, organization, contacts and money to pull it off.

I contacted Anchor Bay to see if they would be interested in knocking togethor a 40th anniversary collection of Night (& Dawn & any more), along with footage from a convention...

Not a peep back :(

Doesn't surprise me considering the modest sales of the last Trilogy boxed set. Besides, HELL NO! I 'aint paying 50 quid for a box set with a lousy Land update.

Remember, that set had the 30th Anniversary Edition of Night, which made it a no-sale for many people. Check the sales of the DVDs in the States.

Also, check out the DVD "Halloween:25 Years of Terror" put out by Anchor Bay. It is a 2 disc set regarding a 25th anniversary convention for the entire Halloween franchise, warts and all. I think that this would work for the Dead Saga as well, easily.
