Way back in primary school, I would have been about 8 or 9, we had a teacher who taught us all these odd rhymes. There is only one I can remember and it went something like this:

Young Kitty Hark,
Groping in the dark,
She heard (something about rapping, can't remember this bit)
Someone at her money box,
What did she do? She tried to throw her shoe
Vainly she tried, her foot still inside.

I'm sure he couldn't have made it up but I've tried typing the lyrics, as I remember them, into google but it doesn't bring anything up!

Nope, don't remember that one. I do remember being taught Spike Milligans "Ning Nang Nong" poem however!:D

Letting us know where you grew up in would help narrow down the origin.

I don't remember that one, but I do remember the Fraggle Rock 'rude jingle' (classic) and the one that was something like this:

On top of the school house
All covered in blood
I shot the poor teacher
With an M61 (M16 doesn't rhyme well I guess)
*forgets a lot of it*

Something about throwing a grenade into his grave at the funeral...weird...but a classic school yard, innocent jingle - despite it's morbid content, ha!
