Same here...

I may hate LOTD, but I still respect the man for the other 3 Zead films. I have the Original VHS of Document of the Dead, as well as the DVD, and of course the version on DAWN ultimate. I like watching him in interviews, his facial expressions are quite comical.

Apparently he has over 100 hours of interview footage, and is looking for more. Heres hoping for the ultimate retrospective on The Man.

I posted about it a while back

Just merged the threads...

The showings are news though. I had heard that Rusty was trying to compile more footage. Perhaps this is just a rough cut?

I love the scuba goggles that George wears these days.

Anyone know if this is a direct to DVD thing or will it do a theatrical run?

That's a very impressive list of guests for interviews.....

But it won't be done until 2008??? Man...

This documentary is a bought item. Damn, the interview list is almost like the perfect GAR convention. Shame it'll probably never be released in the UK but hey!

PS: Where the hell was Amplas on that list?

He grows more reclusive by the day. A tough interview to say the least. I've tried.

By the way, there is a sticky thread about this film in the Dead Discussion forum.

Shame. As far as I'm concerned, John Amplas is the definitive GAR actor. With all of the movies he has starred in, he would be phenomenal convention material.

Next on my list: Docu on Hunter S. Thompson.

There is a good one that's airing on the "Starz" Channel called "Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride".

There's also a good one called "Fear and Loathing on the Road to Hollywood" that follows Thompson during the eighties when "Where the Buffalo Roam" was released. This one can be found on the Special Edition DVD of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".

I interviewed Rusty last Summer about some of his films, and he touched on the documentary as it was coming along in the early stages. The footage he screened at the May 06 Fangoria convention in Burbank looked quite good.

For those in the Pittsburgh area this weekend(Oct. 27-28, 2007), you might be interested to know that this will screen at the Zombie Fest convention. They have not released the time it will show however.

I saw this or at least a version of this in Toronto back in late August. It wasn't very long, maybe half an hour, but I think it might have been a work in progress.

I got to watch a 22 minute preview of it today- the same thing that Griff watched, I'm assuming. It went by so fast! It felt like 22 seconds, not 22 minutes. Very, very engrossing stuff.
I asked Rusty about a possible release date and he said another year, at least. He wants to really make it as good as possible. I just hope it does not take as long as Document of the Dead did, which was 10 or 11 years if I remember correctly.
