View Full Version : In need of sound effects.

I've filmed about 30% of my short film, and editing has already begun.

Since my film is short, has no actors except the camera operator, and no money at all, the film will rely heavily on sound effects for the zombie effect.

I need good zombie moan sound effects. I've only found one. I need lots of them. I also need an air raid siren sound effect, which I can't find either.

If anyone can help out, or suggest other sound effects I could use to create an atmosphere in the film, let me know.

Well, do a search for free sound FX. Or, make your own.

I have a library full of custom SFX and i can also provide you with some ambient music, most likely completely free of charge depending on exactly what it is you want ... i am not here to sell you anything, however you SHOULD consider investing in my latest CD, which i am sure you will find VERY useful, it is perfect for your project and i am confident that it will enhance the end result dramatically for next to nothing from a purely financial point of view, so think of it as the best investment you could probably make at this point in time.

For your $13.13 you can then take ANY length of the CD (Run time 55.50Ms) and use that for your entire soundtrack score/ambience for an end credit only. If you DO take it and you DO want to use it for your movie ... please contact me for credit details.

Subject: ALPHA_DOG: Black Corpse Transmissions - A Review

And somehow the drone they create, though barely human, has a calming effect throughout the day, yet sends a shiver down my spine when darkness falls.

He's not kidding. My cd player needs an exorcism.

I received the much anticipated Black Corpse Transmissions CD today, and was elated to learn it was everything it proclaimed itself to be, a fitting musical epitaph for the damned.

Fellow dead enthusiasts, it freaked me right the **** out. I could imagine it a soundtrack to the rise of the dead, a fitting thrum to the clawing of earth, the rattle and squawk of sloughed flesh from the throats of the dead...

...and that was only the first track.

I'll definitely be using it for a few projects I've been working on, as background noise to my next Halloween get together, and most of all, just to freak my partner out.

Deadman and I have had our disagreements in the past, but there is no disputing his musical genius.

Black Corpse Transmissions Version One Point Three : Review from Bonewire Corp.

" . . . This disc actually wants you to die. It ****ing hates you. It hates you because it knows the truth . The truth, for what it is worth, is that you deserve a prolonged and agonising death, and for fifty five minutes it positively taunts you with the sickness it want's to inflict upon you. But don't make the mistake, not even for one single second, that death is it's true endgame .

If this score could manifest itself as a physical reality it would hold you down by your throat for the duration and gently caress your eyeballs with blunt scissors to distract you from the harm it will be doing to your long term mental development. I ****ing love it!

Why don't you just carry a portable tape recorder to the bars this weekend, and have drunk people cry, moan, or scream into it...

I found a whole collection of recordings at the library. Free sound effects courtesy of the BBC :)

There are 120 discs in the BBC library. You can purchase them or borrow from your library.

For my zombie moans and groans I took friends in a studio and for 30 minutes we moaned and groaned. The Band waiting to enter into the studio thought we were freaks :)

Just remember to ask the DJ to kill the LOUD house/garage/techno/rock/jazz music first :D

I guess it would be possible to isolate and remove certain frequencys at a later date using various parametric EQ units, maybe even using psycho acoustics (?) ... but pretty much impossible to remove an entire music track.

And ideally you would want to use a portable DAT machine ... im not 100% sure that tape recorders even exist anymore :D

At university it was a tradition when the bars empty at 2am, the drunks people cry, scream, and yell. If you need sound fx for a mob scene, just find a college bar and wait for it to empty.
