The guy was probably a lonely, old man that had nothing to do but drugs and keep his lawn up. I blame it on drugs:p
"You can turn your back on a person but you should never turn your back on a drug" - Hunter Thompson
I gotta say though...If I was the kid and knew the guy was an ass and his lawn was the most important thing to him, I would stay the **** away from it....

whoa..okay my dumbass mistake lol
I don't get it...it is just a lawn...I can understand a little agitation at walking on it, but shooting a kid in the chest just because he walked on your lawn?

...more like nuts. I saw this on the news earlier today. Crazy bastard.
When I lived in Pittsburgh as a teenager it ****ed me off to high hell when other kids came to my yard to sled. I even tryed to cgrab them as they came down the hill. But to shoot someone that is just plain crazy!

Agreed.
Many children grow up today without being fully socialized (ie getting their ass kicked at an early age for butthead behavior). Instead they have learned within the 'zero tolerance toward violence' society.
Problems occur as these kids approach adulthood. Some teenagers believe they can continue do anything and get away with it without major damage. While this works well enough within their own peer group who hold a similar set of values, the system breaks down when encountering someone who has an 'old school' perspective.
If you push anyone for long enough, eventually they push back. In this case, after five years of BS with the kid and his family the old man finally went psycho. He completely overreacted, and now the kid is dead. It's a bad situation all around.

You're only 19 (according to your profile) - you're still a kid. Your comment doesn't count; you haven't lived long enough to have an opinion.

So,...."I'd of shot the kid too, he looks like a prick." Is an acceptable opinion? Murder is an acceptable opinion?
If you approve of murder, you should be banned from this site!

Dude, get a grip, the kid was joking. Some kids do deserve to be shot, including any little retard who walks across a cantankerous old man's lawn.

If you don't then you're an idiot. There is a time for everything under the sun. If someone kills your wife, it's not the time to kill them? If someone were to rape you sister, you'd let them live?
Live in reality, man, not in the world you've crafted for yourself. And don't make me start dumbing everything down so you understand it. Well OK, I'll do it once for you...

This is what we call "sarcasm." Sarcasm is when you say something in a a witty manner which you do not mean. OK, precious? Good!

I'm glad some people have a grip on common sense and the fine art of sarcasm. Would I really of shot him? The chances are pretty slim, besides throwing a baseball at his leg is more my style.
As for my comments not being valid, get off your high horse. Seriously, it just makes you look like an ass. The validity of ones beleifs does not correspond with ones age, we're all entitled to our opinions and we all have experiences to shape them. There are plenty of people out there that far outweigh me in the age department, but are still number than a pounded thumb.

It should be "have" not "of" - that alone proves my point. (point being - not old enough to have a valid opinion)

Woohoo, so now proper use of the English language on an internet message board at 2 AM is a prerequeset for having a valid opinion?

Actually, no. This post "I'd of shot the kid too, he looks like a prick." shows you're very child-like.

Hmmm, so everyone who has ever used sarcasm in any way shape or form is thus childlike.
You really have some absurd standards for what is concidered adult behaviour. But then wouldn't you say jumping the fence over one sarcastic comment and declaring that others opinions do not matter would constitute childlike behaviour as well?
