I'm a Budweiser guy. I remember trying to get into beer when I was younger, like 16/17 but I couldn't be bothered with the taste, tried a bunch of lagers and beers. I was into vodka and other spirits like Southern Comfort back around then. At Uni it was all about double vodka and red bulls, or So-Co...but then I got really drunk on So-Co one night and it just made me feel sick whenever I smelt it.

Then I started drinking Stella down the pub, which is where you wanna drink it - canned or bottled Stella sucks, but out of the pipes you run the risk of a dodgy pint and the subsequent heart burn/indigestion. Then at a party, when I was giving up finding a beer/lager I could really like ... I found the holy grail - Budweiser.

*glorious music*

Sooooo good, comes in its own bottle, has a birth date on it, tastes nice and you can whip out some classic belches with it. Mmmm...Budweiser...*drools*

I can't drink any of the big, name brand beers in the US like Coors, Bud, Miller...They just taste awful. The microbrewery ales and lagers are pretty good like Anchor Steam and Newcastle. But when possible I usually go for wheat beer and guinness. Guinness has to be one of the drinks of the Gods.

New Castle rocks, and so does Bass and Heniken. But when I'm on the cheap, I prefer Miller Lite in bottles.

I love a good dark beer. Something that goes down like syrup is perfect! LOL

If you like a good strong dark beer there is Guiness obviously, and Beamish is quite good as well.

Try some of these if you can find them:

DragonHead Stout
And
Skullsplitter

Two of my favorites.

And to really find the best beers, ales and lagers...one should try and attend Oktoberfest in Germany once in their life.

Depends, I'm a miller guy at heart and by choice, but would choose coors lite for a good all day drinking beer.

Ahh, you are talking to the beer Monster here! :)

If you are looking for some Premium Beer then get yourself some Leffe, its from the same company as Stella but in a totally different league. Here is a link I've just googled that explains more:

http://www.inbev.com/brands/2__2__4__leffe.cfm

Leffe Blonde is my favorite, Brown is more like an ale but its still good, Red is more fruity with a kind of wine taste I didn't much care for.

If you want to go on the cheap side, I stick to Carling, the extra cold is good for a pint and the cans are good for a carryout.

But try the Leffe, either by Glass (you don't get pints, it comes in a kind of round glass) or by the champange size bottle with the cork, the small beer bottles don't help with the taste.

Guinness Extra Stout is good porter. Few bars around here still serve it warm, though it tastes better cold. Nothing better than a slow pour, watching the beer settle in the glass. At the supermarket, given the choice buy bottles instead of cans.

Pabst Special Export is a great pale ale, Heineken and Molson make a similar beer.

Years ago when money was tight, used to buy Bush or Old Milwakee beer in long neck returnable bottles. Long as they weren't skunked, it was decent beer.

For bottom of the barrel it's time to get smashed time, Milwakee's Best Light was the beer of choice. Back in the day it was 3 twelve packs for $8.88. Tastes like crap, but it will get you drunk.

It depends on what type of beer you are going for. Lighter beer? Heavier beer? In between?

Dark and stout beer Im all for Beamish. Guinness is great as well (wearing a Guiness shirt right now:D ). I just tried a stout beer called Bare Knuckle and it was damn good...an AB brand...I was just at the AB factory and did the tour today since its in Saint Louis...I went and saw the horses...then asked the tour guide where the place for free beer was...then headed there:D

I am more of a wheat and pale ale type of beer drinker (when I have the money). When all types of beer are available, I tend to go for the India Pale Ales, like Fischerspooner...which is a great tasting pale ale brewed in India with a pretty high percentage of alcohol. When I was in Amsterdam, they had some lovely Witbiers (white beer), Hoegarrden was a good one. I went to the Heineken brewery there and let me tell you...you havent had a Heineken unless you live in Amsterdam. Fresh Heineken is incredible...and its a shame that it takes to long to import to the States because it loses so much of its flavor. Then if its a local or readily available ale, I go with Boulevard or Blue Moon. Goose Island makes some great seasonal ales as well.

Ive gotten to the point of beer drinking that I need taste to my beer. I cant drink Natural Lights anymore, so on my college budget I go with Milwaukee's Best Regular. It is a horrible beer, but at least it has taste.

I could go on and on...beer is a great past time:D

Stella makes me laugh. They advertise it in the UK with these fancy-pants, black and white, artistic type adverts which sell an 'old world' Europe to us ... meanwhile it tastes harsh and it's drunk by students and has the alternative name "Wife Beater" here in the UK, lol.

Did you go to University of Alabama? :D

How odd that I am in the USA drinking Heineken, Guinness and Bass and you are in the UK drinking Budweiser and chasing it with SOCO?!?!

A really tasty beer is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. You can probably find it at your grocery store (in the States at least). Another beer from the same family as Sierra is Anchor Steam.

Dont forget your classic from the Czech Republic PILSNER URQUELL. Stuff goes down like water! And its readily available in most beverage stores (In the US anyway)

Being forever Blue, I even enjoy the weak import we get over here. My friend Beth though brings us a case or two a few times a year from "over there"...

Being a blue collar beer man, I was raised on Lone Star and Shlitz in a can...

so Stella is quite tasty---

I had a party awhile back at my house, must be about 6 years ago now, we had nothing to drink but SCHLITZ! We called it my "BACKYARD BONANZA". Needless to say, I lost a front porch, two people went to the hospital with minor cuncussions, 2 windows were broken, and a keg was launched off of my roof into a neighbors yard.

*sigh*

I do love me some SCHLITZ.

LMAO

If simply getting drunk is your objective, then I suggest Natural Ice. :dead:

I made that mistake in my teens :barf:
