I have seen the trailer as well, just now as a matter of fact, and I am a bit curious. I agree it seems to have borrowed a few ideas from other films. I think it will probably do well at the box office.
I am also curious about The Hills Have Eyes remake as well, but can’t seem to bring myself to go see it.

Yes, definately check out Hills2006 - I saw it in the cinema and was pleasantly surprised. It sometimes falls foul of modern cliches (big bangs for scares), but overall I thought it was well made - good script and well directed by Aja.
As for Slither, I saw a clip of it, looks a bit iffy. The James Gunn thing puts me off - he writes and directs the movie - seems to incorporate plenty of Buffy-style humour with lots of CGI gore ... not sure, my Jury's out until I see it...

Thanks for the positive reviews, I will try to check it out before it leaves the theater.

Trailers indeed can be deceptive. When we saw the trailer for 40 Year-Old Virgin it looked really sucky...but then I saw the TV trailers and it looked better...then I got a copy of it and it actually was really funny and kinda sweet/good natured with some great comedy performances...looks can indeed be deceiving...

From what I've seen of the trailer, I think Slither looks like a fun gore movie. I still don't see what people have against James Gunn.. Dawn O4 was a fun movie, if it had any other name rather than Dawn of the Dead I'm pretty nearly everyone here would have liked it.

Could be good, could be crap. Either way, i'll go see it Friday, and let you know my opinion on Saturday.

I'm definitely going to see it. Looks like a fun horror-gore-comedy. :)
