I saw that they have the House of M in graphic novel form now would you think this woule be worth buying and will the whole house of M series be in the one book or will i need to get more than one graphic novel? and would it be easier to just get the comics it was based on and how many different comic series was it spread across and for how many issues? and when will the marvel civil war start and will it cover all comics issues?

The effects were in a lot of comics, but you can get the graphic novel for the main storyline. There were spin-offs in a bunch of others, I don't remember how many though. Basically anything released with the House of M logo down the left side of the comic was one that dealt with that character during that time period.
No clue on the civil war though, I will ask the guy at the comic shop tomorrow.

I realized today that the Civil War started last week in The Amazing Spider-Man comic which premiered the new Spider-Man costume.
I also realized today that this new forum has more bugs than a prostitute.

House of M is can be read as a stand alone tpb. The other books pretty much just took place in the House of M universe rather than having any direct impact of the events of lead to the shattering of Wanda Maximoff's "perfect" world.
There are some events that happen in the Uncanny X-Men House of M books that could have effects in the Marvel world but I'm not 100% sure.
Civil War kicks off full in May with the one shot of New Avengers: The Illuminati but there is going to be lead ups in a number of books.
All the issues involved in the Civil War are:
Civil War (7-issue miniseries)
Civil War: Front Line (10-issue miniseries)
New Avengers: The Illuminati Special
Amazing Spider-Man #529-535 (The War at Home)
Fantastic Four #536-#537 (The Road to Civil War)
Runaways/Young Avengers
She-Hulk 2 #8
Thunderbolts #103-105
Wolverine #42-47 (Vendetta)
X-Factor #8-9
X-Men: Civil War
I don't think I'll be buying much outside of my normal purchases. I don't read Spiderman, Thurnderbolts or the F4. I hear She Hulk has quite a majory part to play in the plot so it may be worth picking up that. I'll buy the specials and I buy the X-book (bar Wolverine) and Runaways and the Young Avengers anyway.
Really looking forward to it... hope it stands up to the hype!

Amazing Spider-Man #529 has a banner at the top that says "The Road to Civil War"
I haven't seen the Fantastic Four #536 yet. I think the titles leading up to the Civil War will all have that banner.

damn they know how to make you spend money lol. i appreciate your listing the comics that will be in the civil war im definetly going to pick those up. i always hated to miss any part of a major story arch even if its in a series i dont read id always get it just to see the full story. its good to see the thunderbolts are still going as a series too definelty one of the coolest ideas marvel had come up with at the time. another question whats up with the green goblin and the new green goblin ( phil ulrich). i recall them ending the new green goblin series with norman osbourne coming back into the picture. did the new green goblin ever get his powers back in the regular marvel universe ( i know he had powers in the spider girl series and could even do the lunatic laugh without a mask) and whatever happened with norman taking mary janes baby from her did he end up raising it or did he kill it? and did norman and phil ever meet up ?

No idea what is going on with Thunderbolts. I did start off buying it when it was first released and kept up for the first 12 issues or so. It's all changed now by the looks of the line up.
Does any one know which issue the New Warriors incident occurs? There is a new New Warriors monthly started but it's not in the list... maybe it will be in one of the one shots.
