Basically, post videos that take you 'back in the day', things you remember watching as a kid or when you were younger, things you don't see anymore, be it movies, tv shows, adverts, PSA's or whatever.

Here's my first:

Screw you guys, I thought this show rocked back in the day when I was a kid/teen, summer holidays off from school, watching Channel 4 summer holiday programming ... takes me back. :)

Awesome topic! And I will admit that I watched Saved By The Bell :shifty:

Here is an almost canonical collection of 80s cartoon intros. See how many look familiar. This is not the collection I was looking for, but should cover most of it.

Fireman Sam was awesome, but The Real Ghostbusters ... ah mate, that brings a lump to my throat and a joyous tear to my eye ... ah I remember watching that as a kid, getting the toys and so on ... oh for life to be that simple again...

I'm gonna go "keepvid" all those, because that show was freaking awesome - "Round the Bend".

Check out this promo for RGB, MZ. Notice the color of their suits? They should have been left that way..

I was a bit older when this came around, but I loved it because it was kinda dark and followed the mythos quite well. Plus it used Danny Elfman's kick ass score.

Ah mate, I remember that Batman intro from the last 1990s on ITV I think it was. I never watched it, but I certainly appreciated the style of the animation and the over all look, but it was never really something I watched.

Ahhhh TRGB, looks like that promo featured some earlier animation - Venkman looks more round-faced, or maybe I wasn't looking right. That show was awesome, the voice of Venkman was also the voice of Garfield in the animated series - awesome, and then Bill Murray, who as we all know was the real-life Venkman, went on to voice CGI Garfield - oh the nerdgasm!

TMNT (or "Hero" Turtles as they were in the UK), I never got into properly, I had this odd relationship with it. I was pissed off at it because ITV yanked TRGB in favour of TMN(H)T, so I was all grumbly, but I remember watching some episodes, the movies, had a TMN(H)T book...but it was no TRGB, not by a long shot.

... ... ...

I also remember a UK show, again I think it was on ITV, about some seaside resort hotel I think, and it had a mix (I think) of real people and puppets, and there was a puppet family who I think were called "The Gribbles" I think, and there was "Mrs Gribble", who in one episode is put on a diet, but goes absolutely bonkers from either binge-eating or the dieting and it all goes a bit Evil Dead or something...scared the absolute be-f*cking-jesus out of me as a kid ... but I completely forget the name of the show, ack! Any ideas my fellow Brits?

You're talking about Lorenzo Music. But I've got a larger nerdgasm....

Music voiced Venkman for about 3 seasons I believe, and then Dave Coulier(AKA Uncle Jesse from "Full House") voiced Venkman for the rest of the series. But get this....they replaced Music with Coulier because Murray complained that his character sounded too much like Garfield....

And you probably already know this....but Maurice LaMarche("Futurama") voiced Spengler. And oh yeah.....Arsenio Hall was Zeddemore.

Good call on the 90s Batman cartoon, Bassman. That cartoon was nice and pulpy with a well-developed sense of noir (even if it was kidified somewhat).

Tricky - I remember the show being on, but never watched it ... Dee-fen-DERZ!!! :p

Hellsing - that 'afraid of the dark?' show was beyond me, or I was beyond it rather, when it came out, but I vaguely remember it being on - also there was "Goosebumps", which came along and I remember reading a couple of the books, but that was back when I'd like the covers more than actually sitting down to do the bloody reading, lol...now I do actually read books though...

Anyway, Power Rangers, hell yes I watched that when I was a kid, I'm amazed it's still going, the director of that documentary I'm working on, his kid is into Power Rangers and has the toys and aye, I was amazed it was still going, made me feel reet old in a way too, lol.

But if you remember that, how about this?! Now this takes me back to a summer holiday trip to see my Gran in Scotland and watching this at around 9 or 9:30am on her TV in the living room:

Ahhh the memories...

The name vaguely rings a bell, but I don't remember seeing it. I think there was another one after VR Troopers, in the same Power Rangers mould, not sure what it was called...or is my brain just farting?

I posted a link to a couple of pages of all the Round the Bend episodes, but here's the six parts of one chunk of RTB that I absolutely loved and still do, "False Teeth From Beyond The Stars" (Invasion of the Body Snatchers-like, animated 50's style horror serial) ... scared the crap out of me as a little kid, but awed me in equal measure and stuck with me ever since. :)

Oh my Tricky, I hadn't braced myself properly and promptly nearly fell of my chair with joy, PUGWALL'S SUMMER!!!

Man, me and my sister used to watch that show all summer long, it was brilliant! :)

Reminded me of this, another Channel 4 summer holiday staple in the mid 1990s:

(Just the themetune, couldn't find the real intro, but this is someone's parody). It doesn't come in a jar, but rather from who you are ... now just remember that slice of philosophy. :D

ah man, i never could stand that show, but i never really watched kids tv much after school really, the mere sight of those ice smokin' presenters left a abd taste in my mouth that ruined those shows for me.
