Format Thought

I was thinking of zombie stories/novels, and came up with a good format:

How about ripping off comics, and doing it in a "War Journal" format? A story that begins in third person, with a survivor/badass sweep-team member recovering a "journal" in the ruins of some "fortress", that was made by some poor bastard?

The meat of the story is the first-person, day-by-day account of this holed-up guy's "life".

The end goes back to the third-person perspective, and the "discoverer".

Any thoughts on this?

Interesting idea...but someone would destroy the simplicity of it and turn a written diary into a video diary...I like the idea of written similar to dances with wolves. I like the idea also of a governmental group or militaristic group that finds the diary...could have been left behind when the person made a run for it or when the author of the diary died from his/her wounds. I like it...keep going!
