I kinda like that! It's a cleaner slate to work with!
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. hopefully this will be one of those things you hear about on the net that gets knocked around from place to place and then dies.

a sequel makes even less sense (to me at least) than a prequel. i would prefer neither. this is an idea that needs to go the way of the dodo.

Wouldn't surprise me. There was lots of talk of a sequel to Godzilla, the Hulk, (the new one is a reboot NOT a direct sequel) & Dawn '04. All of these made a right good chunk o' change initially, but varying degrees of negative feedback later on & *poof* no sequels.

I'd quite happily watch a (good) sequel! They've got a clean sheet basically...

They should just stop ... read the book ... make that into a movie, because they sure as sh*t didn't with Will Smith.
