Sin City: A Dame To Kill For (film)

Looks like it may finally be happening!

    http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Rober...oon-30407.html

Dimension Films has announced that Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For - the new official title - is now scheduled to start production shortly. The press release from the studio doesn't have any specific dates, but AR Films and Quick Draw Productions are on-board to produce. The story is being kept under wraps and it's unclear if the sequel will be taking on multiple stories like the first film, but the Miller story A Dame To Kill For centers on Dwight McCarthy (played by Clive Owen in the original) who finds himself in a serious amount of trouble when an ex-flame named Ava contacts him and says that someone is looking to kill her. Casting begins next week and it's expected that actors from the first film will return for their second tour of duty.
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Keep in mind that Rodriguez also stated they were well into preproduction back around 2007. Then again in 2009. Then again in 2011 he said it wouldn't start until after Machete Kills.

I'll believe it when we get a trailer. Which shouldn't be very long considering how fast Rodriguez films everything in his garage....

Sometimes it seems with RR that he's biting off more than he can chew at any one time, so he's all about one thing, but then he's off to something else. He does shoot fast, mind ... but it would be nice - as a fan - to have a bit of consistent news regarding what we're supposed to be looking forward to. Sin City 2 has been long overdue though. It's now been seven years since the first movie, blimey, how time flies!

Then again, Danny Trejo isn't getting any younger (he's in his mid sixties apparently! Doing well for his age, that's for sure!), so if they've got two more flicks in that franchise to do, they've gotta do them swiftly.

    Rodriguez:

"[Rourke is] all excited to come back, but he's probably the first one," Rodriguez said. "I saw Rosario [Dawson] too. I ran into her for something else, and she's pumped. They've always been excited about doing another one, so that will be fun."
Surprised to hear Rourke is excited about reprising Marv. I've heard before that he hated the makeup process....

Maybe we'll get a trailer announcing the world premiere of the actual trailer. Its not like anyone has done that before.

No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. The announcement trailers are old news. Now we have pre-announcement trailers that announce the announcement trailer. After that there's a re-cap trailer to cover the pre-announcement trailer and announcement trailer. Before the trailer we get a photo of the studio behind the film giving us the middle finger, THEN the real trailer.

Rodriguez released a teaser poster. I guess that's one step closer to it actually happening this time. Confirmation of Miller co-directing, as well.

    A few details:

    http://www.totalfilm.com/news/releas...-3d-sin-city-2
First things first, and that all-important release date has been confirmed as 4 October 2013. That's when the film will open in the US, with the UK date likely to follow in short order.

Next, we have confirmation that Jessica Alba will join Mickey Rourke in the long-awaited sequel, with both stars named in an official press release. Rosario Dawson is also expected to reappear, although her name is conspicuous by its absence in the official blurb.

What is included is the news that the film will be presented in 3D, lending a new element to the distinctive look of the first film.
I remember when they were originally talking about having Sin City 2 out for Xmas 2006.

I absolutely love the film flick, so I'm super-duper up for this.

    Filming began yesterday: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hea...s-jaime-384149

Jaimie King is back as Wendy and they've recast Miho, for whatever reason.

Bruce Willis in sequel - http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Bruce...uel-35225.html

“Bruce is back, so he will be seen,” Rodriguez states, though he stays vague beyond that, and I’m OK with it. We don’t want to have all of the surprises from a second Sin City spoiled long before Rodriguez even completes filming. He does talk in the clip about his filming process on these films, shooting actors as their schedules become available and then puzzle-piecing it all together after the fact. In addition to Willis, he mentioned roles for Juno Temple, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who’ll star in a story titled The Long, Bad Night.

I'm very excited for this - I've been waiting for this since 2006 (remember when they were saying Sin City 2 was going to be a winter 2006 release? ), and by the sounds of it, it'll be following hot-on-the-heels of the new Machete movie which finally got a release date after some awkward legal delays.
