I found this while scouring the IMDb message boards. Somebody had an old VHS copy of the workprint / (directors cut?) of Hell of the Living Dead. He writes extensively about it, and what changes are in it in comparison to the released version. It seems interesting enough to give it another go. He writes that it's, perhaps not surprisingly, a much better film than the one that got released with considerably less archive footage from that french documentary.
