The Zero Theorem (film) - Terry Gilliam

    5/5 at Cinemablend - http://www.cinemablend.com/reviews/Z...rem-66323.html

Daring us to empathize with a dreamer the film repeatedly declares mad. And for all this, The Zero Theorem is a masterpiece of Gilliam's style and substance.

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. I've seen some mixed reviews, but that seems to be the case with most Gilliam flicks - he's got a very particular outlook so some are bound to not dig his stuff. Nice to see some good reviews for it too.

I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I saw it Saturday! It had an abrupt ending, but I otherwise liked it.
