    RIP Glen A. Larson

I doubt there's a single person here who's not enjoyed numerous of the series he brought to TV!

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. That man was part responsible for most of my childhood TV watching.

No idea whether he was a good or bad guy, but cheers for that anyway!

He helped composed the theme songs for some of his series. eg: Knight Rider and Battlestar Galactica!

    He had nine kids!

Didn't know he was still alive. This guy delivered back in the day. He really had a major impact on modern popular culture.

He was a Mormon, so that's a little on the light side for all the money he had. Anybody know how many wives?

I watched about 90% of the shows they had listed in that AICN article as a kid. "Six Million Dollar Man" was a huge influence on me as a kid. Probably the earliest show I can remember being "into", before Star Wars came out. RIP Mr. Larson.

Heard they're remaking 'The Six Million Dollar Man' for the modern age. I can see it going something like this:

"Steve Austin...a man barely alive...we can rebuild him..."

"Don't be ridiculous, that would cost a bleedin fortune! How much? Eh?"

    "Six million."

"Yeh, I knew it. A bleedin fort...wait what? Oh!! Em...well ok then."

Yeah, it's been stuck in development hell for a long time. At one point they were talking comedy w/ Jim Carrey as Steve Austin.

These days I imagine they'd have to up the $ amount to make it the Six BILLION Dollar Man to make it relevant?

Or just go w/ the title from the book that inspired the show, "Cyborg", & be done with it.

    A comedy? Christ no.

Can we just not...you know...leave it alone?

Let us remember the godawful flares, crappy robots and bigfoot in peace?

Yeah, I pretty much agree. Though in my heart, I would love a whole new generation of kids going "ch-ch-ch-ch!" while running in slo-mo... (even though I know it'll never happen).

I also want this guy on the shelf of every toy store again:

That bloke was the hero of my childhood.

    Rest in peace, you legend.

Like Irwin Allen before him, a purveyor of awesome sci-fi and action/adventure TV
Oblivion gallops closer, favoring the spur, sparing the rein - I think we will be gone soon
