    Islamic peace kills 12 more...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-30710883

Gunmen have attacked the Paris office of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, killing 12 people and injuring seven, French officials say.

At least two masked attackers opened fire with assault rifles in the office and exchanged shots with police in the street outside before escaping by car.

The latest tweet on Charlie Hebdo's account was a cartoon of the Islamic State militant group leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

The satirical weekly has courted controversy in the past with its irreverent take on news and current affairs.

The magazine was fire-bombed in November 2011 a day after it carried a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad.

    ...I just don't understand...
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. No sense of humor that's what. I really hope our governments are watching and crack down on these savages.

I think it's a bit more than a lack of humour. It a basic lack of a grasp on reality.

I still can't get my head around how these people equate a cartoon drawing to require the mowing down a dozen people with automatic gun fire, to earn a herd of magical virgins.

It's akin to the underpant gnomes in Southpark: Underpants + ? = profit

How can this possibly be news to you? Religion has always found some bullshit reason to kill other people. Islam is by far the worst in today's world, but in the US christians are killing doctors who perform abortions, in India rivalling Buddhists gangs will beat each other death and let's not get started on what Waffen SS or Imperial army of the Japanese did during World War 2 to satisfy their personal honor.

So long as all this doesn't lead to something terrible like booting all the Arabs, Africans and other individuals from muslim majority areas out of Europe by force.

    It's not news to me...

I just can't get my mindset around an individual who is so "warped" they can think all this is rational! Given how many other Gods and Prophets they know must be "false", they're so sure of theirs they kill. And then let's not start on magical herds of virgins.

Do they not consider how weak their God and religion and faith must be if they are shooting people drawing pictures?

One of the suspects was already convicted on terrorism charges in 2008, and was released after serving only half of a three-year sentence. If the French authorities took terrorism seriously enough, the guy wouldn't have been be free to commit this atrocity today.

Good! Just as long as these wastes of an existance don't take anyone else with them.

    EDIT:
Seem two hostage situations now. Two dead people already confirmed. FFS! Deluded animals! Killing over a non-existant sky fairy.

Can you imagine trying to explain these events to an alien coming to our planet? "Well, these people drew some shapes on a piece of paper and...."

They're dead. Undoubtably their molecules can be put to better use by the universe now!
