It wasn’t the most original concept. Virus outbreaks are a film favourite and central to TV series such as Survivors and The Walking Dead. Neither was it one for hypochondriacs: queasy close-ups of feverish brows and slo-mo sneezes were enough to cause psychosomatic hay fever.

However, it was well-executed, with winning charm, and convincingly rooted in reality. Deft characterisation made us care about these strangers and pace was ratcheted up to reflect the mounting sense of panic. I find myself hooked on another subtitled Euro drama.
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. OK... Four episodes in and enjoying it quite a bit. The first two are a nice build up, and now things are starting to go pear shaped

A little quicky/cheesy/unrealistic in some areas, but generally good entertainment.

ps: Wonder how long we have to wait for the U.S. remake?
