Nicole Kidman in zombie car crash

    Here's the lowdown.

Australian actress Nicole Kidman was taken to a Los Angeles hospital for examination after a stunt car she was riding in crashed early Thursday during the shooting of her latest film "The Invasion," police said.

The incident occurred in the 300 block of West 6th Street when a vehicle surrounded by cameras spun out of control after it hit a light pole, said LAPD Lt. Paul Vernon.

Los Angeles police said eight people, including Kidman, stuntmen and cameramen, suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospitals for examination and were released.

The 39-year-old Oscar-winning actress is starring as a psychiatrist in the science fiction film "The Invasion." During the scene, she was trying to escape zombie-like characters on the hood of the Jaguar when the crash occurred, Kidman's publicist, Catherine Olim said.

The Los Angeles Police Department will likely conduct a routine traffic accident investigation into the crash.

Warner Bros., a unit of Time Warner Inc., also said production continued after the crash and Kidman was expected back on the set Thursday.
    Interesting.

I think it is a loose remake of Invasion of the Body snatchers. However, the bulk of this film was done in Baltimore, MD... and has been re-shot quite a bit.

nicole is hella fit. she'd give a dog a bone. the only reason to watch eyes wide shut was to check her out.
i find her performances a little earnest, although she was creepy as hell in "to die for".
and yeah this movie is yet another remake of invasion of the bodysnatchers. i suppose there hasn't been a bad one yet...but people have a habit of ballsing up failsafe remakes these days...

I'm not positive on this, but I think The Invasion is a remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Good movies, both of them. In fact, The Invasion is a remake of a remake of the Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

There was an old one in the late 50s to mid 60s black and white version in which mankind won at the end.

Then, in the 70s, there was a remake with Donald Sutherland in which the pod people won at the end. This movie was pretty decent, actually.

I hope The Invasion turns out OK, but I suspect that it will be more of the same from Hollywood. PG-13 new horror rubbish.

Correct-a-mundo. It's being directed by a German by the name of Oliver Hirshbiegel. All of his past films seem to be German and I've never seen any of them. So maybe he'll pull something nice out of his American hat on his first try.

The flick also stars The new James Bond, Daniel Craig and the new Felix Leiter, Jeffey Wright. It's going to be strange if they have scenes together after just seeing them as allies in "Casino Royale".....
