Just before the old forum closed, I was about to start some code to allow a forum to be designated as a "News" forum. The idea was, the first posts of any thread would be displayed on the sites main page and show as recent news. People could then obviously go into the thread and reply and discuss it.
All this of course was tripped up by the move to VBulletin. Andy and myself have slowly chipped away at this issue though, and we basically have this functionality now...
Hopefully this should lead to the main page having generally more news and also being more upto date.
