Wikipedia seems to full of @$$holes.

    The reason? Simple.

It seems if some prick doesn't seem to like something who is a 'patroller', one who edits a site back to the way it was, they will and never gives a reason why.

For example and bare with me if it seems like I was 'advertising' on Wikipedia, I posted in the 'List of Zombie Movies' page my own movie. It had been deleted. Why?

If you say because I was 'advertising' my film, why is it alright for others to post any other type of zombie film or book? (Under fiction, Brian Keene's 'The Rising' is still breathing. Okay, he was published through Leisure Books, so what? Are they big time, no. (Not as big as some.) My film is distributed through Brain Damage Films/Pendelum Pictures, who are big enough to be available nationwide in major retailers, even if compared with Leisure.)

Does the zombie film have to be a Hollywood Blockbuster or have a cult following? Kind of defeats the purpose of having a 'list' of zombie movies if you limit what can be added, doesn't it?

To me, personally, that is being a total @$$hole and as if they are ruling from their mighty throne to those below.

I can understand if the list was for only movies that cost a certain amount to make, earned a certain amount or was distributed only by a major studio. But it wasn't.

    Bull$hit, really it is.

What does everyone else think? Regardless if you saw my movie and liked it or not, it still deserves to be on a list of zombie movies since it is in fact one.

True, but this guy seems to be like a 'mod' on there, but maybe he just doesn't have a life and edits $hit a lot that he feels doesn't fit into his so-called definition of life.

Really, it is the same with other things like Fangoria sproating off about horror and things but you never see them doing stuff on low-budget indie horror.

Sounds like a raw deal to me, if it's a list of zombie films and you've made a zombie film - why on earth would that not be applicable? It doesn't make sense. Have you tried posted it again or email those chaps about it? Sounds proper unfair to me.

They keep deleting my link off of the NOTLD page, but my Martin link has been on the Martin page for years. When I re-add the link to the NOTLD page, it is gone again within days. Seriously, why would you click on my NOTLD page and then say to yourself "this doesn't belong"?

I believe one reason is because under their 'rules', even if something is revelant and fits in with a certain topic that normally will be allowed, if you are in any way involved in said project, etc, it would be disqualified because it is like you are advertising.

WTF?!! For one, how do they even know if you are involved in said project when it is a link to the Internet Movie Database, etc? That is being Napaleon-like.

I can understand if they don't want Wikipedia to turn into a big ad spam site, but there are exceptions to the rule when it is a legit entry and not trying to sell you something.

Hmm, never thought about the IMDB connection, but IMDB never allowed my NOTLD link, but they do allow my Martin link, odd.

Its quite simple my dear Axlish the internet is wholly commercialized
Ordinary free fun content,...is pushed to the back of the bus
or made nearly impossible to find.
Start selling something,...or do some pornomafia style refferring linking gimmickry is all I can say.

The site you are having trouble with must be competing with pay sites(someone must offer the same thing or something close except its not free and they have ad-sen*e banners, link gimmickry or something)

It's not just Wikipedia.. it's everywhere. The same assholes patrol IMDB also. I just had it out with some d*ck on there that said we (Dj and myself) were, and i quote, "shamelessly promoting" deadlands.

Shamelessly? Oh, that's right, GOD FORBID a filmmaker that has no promotion machine backing their film (at the time, we didn't have Tempe behind us) and try and spread the word about their film so people can see it. How DARE we do something like that! The NERVE of us, eh?

And of course, that same bozo is trying to change all kinds of data for the movie - which IMDB (instead of confirming with the actual filmmakers) lets it happen - until we complain about it.

I've come to the realization that the majority (not all) of the internet is full of complete c*cksuckers because they can be anonymous and hide behind a computer screen - hence, why i've given up most message boards I use to frequent for years. F*ck 'em, i don't have the time to waste arguing with them. My time is much more important than that.

Sounds like these same jackasses either patrol wiki, or are part of 'em.
    *rolls eyes in disgust*

I have no idea why they'd do that Dawg, I agree, it should be listed regardless - but, look at what you have to deal with out there on the other end of your internet connection. Scary, isn't it?

Sounds like the guy saying you're shameless in your promotion is simply jealous and insecure - guaranteed. It'll be some Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back style nerd living in their bedroom jerkin' off over World of Warcraft and reading leaked scripts saying things like "I could do a better job" - even though they actually couldn't in a million years.

Is there a delay on the changes made on IMDb and such, or is it immediate?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with indie filmmakers promoting their stuff, how else are people gonna find out about it? I think the amount of promotion was modest - but effective. Nothing shameless about it, I doubt that plonker knows the meaning of the world ... too busy scraping spoodge off his keyboard after "one-hundred-elevening" himself over pictures of Star Trek women...

The internet is full of a$$h*les, my friend--jealous, stupid haters. It's the only way they have any voice in society at all.

I agree that there's nothing wrong with shameless promotion--the major studios and publishers do it all the time, only they can afford to pay for it (and pay for favorable reviews as well). Apparently, that "legitimizes" it in some people's minds.

Make sure your film is listed on the ZMDB--Zombie Movie Database. It's a cool site run by good people. Every zombie movie ever made (or just about) is listed there, complete with reviews and ratings, including the new "Zomb-O-Meter," which lets you know what kind of zombie content is present and how much zombie action there is.
