    Lily Allen's latest single's lyrics...

I have to say I'm quite taken by the lyrics!

I want to be rich and I want lots of money
I don’t care about clever I don’t care about funny
I want loads of clothes and fuckloads of diamonds
I heard people die while they are trying to find them

I’ll take my clothes off and it will be shameless
‘Cuz everyone knows that’s how you get famous
I’ll look at the sun and I’ll look in the mirror
I’m on the right track yeah I’m on to a winner

    [Chorus]
    I don’t know what’s right and what’s real anymore
I don’t know how I’m meant to feel anymore
When do you think it will all become clear?
‘Cuz I’m being taken over by The Fear

Life’s about film stars and less about mothers
It’s all about fast cars, cussing each other
But it doesn’t matter cause I’m packing plastic
and that’s what makes my life so fucking fantastic

And I am a weapon of massive consumption
and its not my fault, it’s how I’m programmed to function
I’ll look at the sun and I’ll look in the mirror
I’m on the right track yeah we're on to a winner

    [Chorus]
    I don’t know what’s right and what’s real anymore
I don’t know how I’m meant to feel anymore
When do you think it will all become clear?
‘Cuz I’m being taken over by The Fear

    [Bridge]
Forget about guns and forget ammunition
Cause I’m killing them all on my own little mission
Now I’m not a saint, but I’m not a sinner
Now everything's cool as long as I’m getting thinner

    [Chorus]
    I don’t know what’s right and what’s real anymore
I don’t know how I’m meant to feel anymore
When do you think it will all become clear?
‘Cause I’m being taken over by fear
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. The song itself isn't too bad but it's on MTV every five f**king minutes and drives me round the twist!

Oi! We're off topic! I created this thread because of the quite insightful lyrics about modern society..

I’ll take my clothes off and it will be shameless
‘Cuz everyone knows that’s how you get famous

It’s all about fast cars, cussing each other

Yeah that is very annoying,as well as the fact she has a seeming inability to pronounce the T's in words like "little" or "bitter"

Is that similar to american R&B artists who cannot say 'you', and instead say 'jew' - I guess cos they think it sounds cooler... But infact after the tenth time in a record you just end up should 'you' back at the radio trying to correct them!

    Same as "that's the hammer".

Now I've got a new one to use, cheers Tricky.

And yes, fake cockernee accents piss me off, it's like that one ... Kate Perry? ... she did that song that became overused on Radio One (like all the other gash on there), and it was just pure cockernee ... and awful.

I was thinking Foundations by Kate Nash. Not the same girl. . but a reasonable facsimile of.
