    Army of Thieves (prequel to Army of the Dead) trailer...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdbXnboJCVw

    So the zombie aspect is referenced, but seems to be buried quite in the background.

    The problem, though, is that we already know the fate of this character in Army of the Dead ... and did we really need a prequel about this particular character?

    Considering how utterly piss poor the internal logic was in Army of the Dead, I'm not holding out much hope for this.

    I'd pay good money to not have to watch this.

    Not many zombies...
    Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. The zombies were only in Vegas weren't they? Could even be set before the out break?

    The brief bits of news on a TV in the trailer seems to suggest that it's already happening in America, or Vegas specifically.

    I know I was a bit negative up top and it doesn't look all that great. But I'm gonna level and be honest here;

    I'm probably gonna watch it.

    God damn it.

    Much like Army of the Dead, it certainly gave us something to talk about (and it introduced me to the "Pitch Meeting" series as a bonus).

    The main dude seems to do a lot of 'self aware commentary' moments, you know, that whole vibe in American comedy that we've had for the last 20-ish years where you either riff a lot and then pick multiple lines in the edit, or more specifically here, literally state what's happening or question what is happening or say that you don't like what is happening - and call that humour.

    Sometimes it can be alright, a little wry wink to the audience, say, but the Americans overuse it so much and this character seems to do it a lot...
