question about halo 3 theatre mode

how an i edit my films?, ive got 40 mins of footage from the current game im playing and i seriously just beat a scarab on legendary in under 10 seconds and i want to get just the last 16 seconds or from the 40 mintues but when i load it all i get is screenshot or pause, how can i shorten this as this might be bungie favourite type stuff. -just in cas ei never put it up. 1-it appears 2-i go up an elevator 3- i jump when it comes beneath me 4- i land on its leg 5- i slide onto the deck near the rear 6- i melee a brute 3 times and kill it 7- i turn and fire 2 or 3 missiles at its core 8- i jump off 9- it goes all slopey on my ass

Hm, usually what you'd do is fast forward to the begining of what you wanna save, hit X to bring up the control menu, hit the record button, and use the control sticks and RB+LB to control the camera. Or you could just go in to your first-person mode and it will record you from the perspective you played it at. Thats all there is to it.

I haven't even figured out how to use the theater or record game play. I haven't really tried, though. I should look into that...
