    Two alternative endings to 'Cloverfield'

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Geez those are freakin' lame. 10 seconds of different 'old footage' on one, and a slight difference to the other one.

    LAAAAAAAAAAAAME.

I hate 'alternate endings' when there's piss all different about them, and they make you wait ages to see nothing.

Really....whats the point? One of them just doesn't show the "splash" scene at the end, and the other seems like it's identical to the theatrical ending...

    Exactly, it's uber-lame.

Bit of a schtick to sell DVDs I think, like with I Am Legend saying the other ending was "controversial" ... no, it was just better ... but the whole film was lame when compared to book.
