50 mins to go and i just remembered i downlaoded a program that lets me watch american tv that has the spike tv channel, so for once i wont have to wait for it. Im really excited for gears 2, more so than gta 4 or halo 3, it just had such an ambiguos ending, who was the berserker locust woman who narrated and rode the bike at the end?, i thought she was the main bad guy, just figured it wasnt bat **** crazy becuase it was like a *queen* berzerker yknow?

I still don't think GoW needs a sequel because it always seemed like an enjoyable 'one-off' game to me. But I guess I'll welcome it nonetheless

really?, you didn't want to know anymore about the locust and why they chose that century out of all of seras history to burrow up and invade?, for me it warranted a sequel after its ending more than the origional halo: combat evolved, which had an ending much more akin to that of a stand alone game.

Sure it had an open ending, but at the time I honestly didn't expect it to become a series, despite it's popularity. The storyline of the actual game felt very complete to me, like a movie that leaves room for speculation as to the wider story, but not necessarily a sequel.

yeah i see what you mean, kinda like a starship troopers style "the wars not over, we'll keep fighting" ending. just fro my money it was less complete than halo c.e, since there was so much left unsaid, about what the locust actually were, the whole backstory about marcus fenix and his dad, and of course dom's search for his wife, it left a lot of plot wholes unended, so it really felt like the first of a 2 parter, though god knows they'll try and stretch it into a trilogy.

Graphics-wise? Pretty much... though why and how would they improve on it drastically?

Game-wise the enivronment and action looks a lot bigger, gameplay mechanics looks very much the same with a few new features.

Probably, in the way that Halo looks exactly the same has Halo 2. Similar art style, different set pieces.

Here's a high quality version of the trailer, draw your own conclusions. The scale is insane, dozens of locust running around, the ability to take enemies hostage and snap their necks like in Metal Gear, new weapons, and finally, some color!

not too mention the large amount of enemies that appeared on the screen. When you see all those locusts running around on the ground, along with the derects, king ravens, and cog soldiers well....

they've obviusly done something better. it's also brighter, and as coin said, colour!

    php forums?

If you're on firefox, it's just the American dictionary getting pissy. I really wish there was an option for English English - aka the REAL English - every time I start a new firefox profile I have to allow all my proper spellings, sheesh.

lol - I saw blue and green - holy spoodge!

Aye, GOW1 was the least colourful game in colour I've ever seen, it's like that movie Payback - that was on last night, I'd forgotten how unapologetically "GREY!!!!" that movie is.
