Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. I'd be SO psyched if it were 1989.

Well there are still a lot of people who absolutely adore this gaming style, who aren't into games requiring quick reflexes and button masking. Can't say I'm one of them, but I understand where they're coming from.

This is a turn-based, slow burn dungeon crawler RPG, Skyrim is an Action RPG. Comparing them is like comparing Tomb Raider to Monkey Island (i.e. they're both adventure games, but of a totally different flavour).

^^ Is it turn based? It's realtime really isn't it?

Actually yeah, it seems to be sort of semi-realtime, albeit grid based. Essentially though, it is a tactical dungeon crawler, which is a whole different experience and demographic to something like Skyrim. Also, in addition to Windows, it is being developed for mobile platforms (iOS and eventually Android if it's successful enough) and, you know, I would actually buy something like this to pick up and play on the bus trip to work, etc.

Yeah, it's one of those games you'd just dip into when have an half an hour or so to kill. It's certainly not a case of Skyrims I'll-just-sell-these-items-and-next-thing-you-know it's-three-hours-later-WTF! type of gameplay.
