Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. i offer the best proof that this movie, much like liam neeson's upcoming "the greys" is a complete and total piece of shit: it's being released at the end of january. jan and feb are infamous for being the hollywood equivalents of a junkyard/scrapyard/dumping ground for trash.

I think that's kind of changed in recent years. More and more they're starting to release better films at the beginning of the year. I remember being shocked that Gran Torino was in January. Same for big budget releases like Cloverfield.

In fact, you mentioned Liam Neeson and his awesome flick "Taken" was released in January...

Saw this one the other night. Ehhhhhh, it wasn't bad. Could've done with less jaw jacking and more fighting, that's my biggest complaint. Pretty much there were only two real fight scenes...
I don't think it was the piece of shit everyone was/is calling it. It was entertaining enough.
Definitely not a blockbuster, but still...

So given this is supposedly Lucas' last film, he's gone out on a bit of a whimper?

It can also fall flat when people realise that's all it is. ie: Just promotion with little to actually back it up...
