    Tak3n (film) - Taken 3

Maybe someone nicks his dog this time to something?

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. The director of the second movie is back for this one, which doesn't fill me with much confidence. The second wasn't bad, but it was nowhere near as good as the first movie (which was directed by Pierre Morel who is, frankly, a superior director to Olivier Megaton). Morel's coverage of action, for instance, was decidedly better than Megaton's.

I think Besson said it was the 'best of the three', which is blatantly going to be bollocks, but if it's at least better than the second then that'll be something - and I'd hope for a harder movie straight out of the gate, rather than patching it after-the-fact for DVD/Blu-Ray.

Looks good, but we'll have to wait and see...

The 1st was definitely better than the 2nd.

Judging from Mark Kermode's review, it seems as if the problems with the second have returned for the third ... not surprising considering Olivier Megaton is still in the director's chair (the first was directed by the superior Pierre Morel) and that the film has been softened for a 12A.

I'll give it a spin when it limps onto Sky Movies, but I'm not paying to see watered down stuff.

The first "Taken" was excellent though. One of the best action flicks this side of the millennium.
