To me, Dead Rising is like eating a burnt pizza after a night of drinking back in college. There's a lot there, and for the most parts, it tastes really good, but when you hit a charred piece it makes you want to hurl.

Their inner loop and overall design idea is fantastic. A sandbox filled with flesh eating zombies… awesome! Valiantly trying to save people… cool! The quirky-cool photo aspect and the story.. all good. I'm even willing to say that if you removed most of the problems, the save game system would be an asset (forcing you to make tough choices, etc) rather than a hindrance. Of course, bad AI... not cool, confusing missions.. really not cool, Interface that always works againt you... crappy.

In the end, even with major flaws it's still a really fun game that I'm enjoying. I must say that after about the 6th or 7th hour of play, some things just clicked (like the timing) and it get's more fun.

But it pretty much deserves the 80-85's it's been getting.

I agree with the above average grade its been getting. I'm actually pretty hopeful that a sequel will be made of this game. The mechanics that work is already in place and if they can pull off giving the sequel an on-line co-op option then I'm sure that any sequel to come by will surpass the original.

were would a sequel be set, its like the next stubbs game, how can it have a better location.

    heres my ideas

stubbs - set the second in san andreas

Man, i'm jealouse! i dont have a 360 and i prob wont play the game for a while if ever. But i really want to! haha you guys are lucky. But i can say that i do have resident evil dead aim (not a great game) but i also have a guncon thats looks like an uzi, with a foldable stock and everything! it's compatable w/that game so it's like a zombie arcade shooter in your house. But i'm still jealouse!

see thats the thing microsoft said themeselves imports from the u.s wont work on uk xbox 360's but a magazine ...i think it was 360 gamer showed they did and compared the uk and us versions like "quake 4 is cheaper to import and doesnt suffer from bugs like imports of cod2".

its still all pretty foggy to me.

Vampirism is cool, if you can harness it. The main downside is having to feed nearly every day, if you dont wanna burn up in the sun. You get all those powers and spells, like nightvision/enemy detector, and more strength.

That said, I'll be playing Dead Rising this Thursday for the first time, and I can't effing wait.

vampirism is great, but also greatly annoying. wait until you get the 5 gems it gets worse after that.

    .

i think the next logical step would be a small city. increase the enviroment, and number of NPC's and have at it.

i demand a dumptruck as a weapon in dead Rising 2.

Ye think too small. I demand a steamroller as a usable vehicle. Barring that, some sort of crop gathering vehicle with lots and lots of spinning and rotating blade implements.

Mack truck with mini-game to hotwire the vehicle. Just make sure you got your bag of tools handy!

Just bought a XBOX 360 with Dead Rising. I hope this game is good. I'll post my opinion about it later.
