    Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (film)

So now Jack Ryan is a super duper agent? I thought he was an analyst?

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. AICN reviews it as a perfectly good film. Not great, but certainly good! - http://www.aintitcool.com/node/65765

It’s a solid, entertaining film in a time of the year where that is rare.

That clip made the film look better than the trailer did. I saw the trailer in the cinema a couple of weeks ago and all I could think was Snooze...

I'm with you. If they make Jack Ryan into some kind of action hero then he's no longer that interesting. We already have that in the Jason Bourne films and all the aesthetic rip off's they've gotten (including the new Bond films).

Anyway, this film would be so much more interesting if that was actually Captain Kirk, travelling back in time to stop some Alien from changing Earth's timeline.
