the wife got me a copy of king's newest book of short stories, "the bazaar of bad dreams" for my birthday. even if i am in a funk where i'm not in the mood for reading most things, i can always sit back with a stephen king short and be whisked away into another world.

^^ Ooooh! That looks interesting! Reviews are good!
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Yep. Fascinating book. The connections he makes with the incredible resistence to disease that most European people have and the in agriculture and trade are intriguing for sure. It almost inevitable, I think, that more advanced societies destroy less advanced ones.

There is my post for the season. I have been living in NYC with a cousin of mine and have just returned home. I am leaving for Chicago tuesday morning. Life is grand.

The Martian by Andy Weir - I just finished reading it today. An excellent book - highly recommended reading!
