I think it was X who was going on about not being able to rob stores or something ... well I just walked into a laundromat, went to the till, pressed LB to open it and took some cash, walked out and then got 1 star cop rating on me, so I booked outta there and did the last Jimmy mission.

Stores wish glass fronts that you can see into - boom - there's your stores to rob. I presume you can do the same in the likes of Burger Shot or that Starbucks-like place or whatever.
Hm, can somebody tell me when the hell ya unlock the helicopter tours? I'm over 40% through the game and still don't have any access to helicopters (other than with Brucie).
Only had to do the final mission twice, cos I was too late on a bit of a chase (on a dirt bike), so I had to go through the entire bloody mission again, but only once more in order to complete the game, woo!
Then watched the entire credit roll ... IT'S F*CKING LONG ... I swear it's the best part of 20 minutes!
Had a monster sesh earlier today, or monster for me anyway, 3 and a half hours. I was in the final few missions and it just keeps hitting you with another one and another one - so having Auto Save on is an absolute must - which was a bit annoying in itself to be honest.
Having completed "that special someone" (and the mish on the Platypus at that stage as well I think) - I shot Darko by the way, which was awesome, Niko just blasts that dude to bits hahaha - I'm about to go get some rest as it's Roman's wedding and then one of my random "friends" rings me (Jeff) to come meet him.
So there I am, hours before my cousin's wedding, taking a Blista Compact through Algonquin with Jeff's apparently cheating wife dead in the back seat for the whole world (and cops) to see. Got chased twice, but ditched the car in the water.
Didn't have time to do a manual save before the wedding, then had to get Kate, then the wedding - then poor Kate gets blasted, cos I chose to not do the deal with that bastard Dimitri - then the next mission rolls around (fortunately Niko goes home and sleeps, then wakes up and mourns Kate, then it's straight into the final mission).
Had to do the final mish twice as I said, a long-arse chase which wasn't that challenging (there were other far more challenging races in the game in missions), then a massive shoot out throughout that old-arse casino, then chasing a boat along the coast on a dirt bike, then jump into a chopper which I fly, it gets nailed, we land on Happiness Island and I plug that bastard Peregrino.
Then the best part of 20 minutes watching the credits roll, lol.
All-in-all, I stick by my 95% assertion, it's not quite perfect, but a bloody great achievement in videogame making nonetheless, the best of 2008 quite possibly (depending on Alan Wake of course - if it ever comes out).

I'm confused...you robbed a laundrette? How many other non-map places can you go into? Only places I've been into are the ones in the missions/friend activities, or fast food outlets....I read somwhere that 90% of all the buildings could be entered but aside from a few housing projects there's been nothing that I've seen that you can enter or whatever...do you get an icon on your map for the places that you can rob?
So now I'm thinking there's a bit more to this than meets the eye but it seems well hidden....why not put it on the map if you ca go into it?
I think I'm rocketing through the missions without really doing much friend based stuff, I've done all the exotic exports but other than that not much....I go on man-dates every now and then and have kept people generally happy aside from LJ and Kate....argh...I'm probs gonna have to play through this whole game again after, just to see everything...damnit.
Finding the combat a little more agreeable, mainly because they are generally long range missions now, the up close stuff is retarded.

There's a helitour thing, if memory serves it's on the lower right corner of Alderney, so you'd have to unlock that island first.

Yeah, had that island unlocked for a while. In fact, it wasn't until I had unlocked all of the islands that I found the helitours. See, I knew about it... but I thought it's icon would pop up on my map when it would be available to me... turned out all I had to do was go there once and THEN the icon would be on my map. Dumbass me. Oh well, at least now I have a heli parked out front of my apartment at all times.

Does anybody know if that site really updates when you accomplish things? I read on another forum that, say you did half of the unique jumps, if you go back to that website in the game, it'll only list the final half that you need for the achievement.
I got that email in-game regarding that site, it doesn't mess up your saves or anything does it? I guess it shouldn't as they're actively supplying you with it in-game, so...hmmm.
Also, had a right time of it yesterday. I decided to go vigilante in a cop car, I was chasing these GTA'ers and they were shelling the shiite outta me, which was when I suddenly forgot how to shoot from a car, so I got near-killed, then remembered, blasted their car until they stopped, then had a street-based shoot-out as peds went screaming away, my cop car exploded and I downed the bad guys - job done.
Then an angry ped came chasing after me, so I had to hot-foot it, but the guy kept coming. Niko was getting tired, so I led this guy down an alley where some other guy was, drew my pistol and splattered his brains. Then the cops got onto me and no way out of the alley but the way I came.
I run out, my health getting really low now, ran through the park (first island) stole a Super GT and barged it to the Pay & Spray when I was on grey stars - tada, job done. Then got a much-needed burger from the 69 diner.
For a while, almost my entire XBL friends list would be people playing GTA IV. But now it seems to be reverting back to the old ways of my entire list on Call Of Duty 4. Guess people have grown tiresome of GTA... I, however, have not.

It's inevitable, you play something for a month solid and you're bound to grow a bit tired of it.
I've put in something like 55 hours since getting it, and haven't played it for the last two days, but I must go back to it and have a good romp about.
It's inevitable, but the solution is to go and play something else, then you'll get a hankering for GTA IV again after a while and then get all hot to trot for that. Swings and round abouts, mate.
finally got around to finishing the story mode last night, so i've gotta finish collecting pigeons, then complete all activities with jacob, packie, and brucie, then i'll have 100%.
multiplayer is fun as hell. last night i got an achievement "top of the food chain" for getting 20 pistol kills in a ranked match. it was a free-for-all at the airport, and i finished 2nd of 16. just got home from work, so i'm about to rip up some mp here in a few.
did any of you guys ever get together for an hpotd game yet? i've been offline for a week or two, so i hope i didn't miss it....anyone down for some chaos tonight?
