Are you hopeful about the new Superman film?

What are you expecting from it, compared to the glorious 1978 version?
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. You don't like Superman 1 or 2?

I don't know how to vote yet. I'll go see it. I've always been a Superman fan.

Better than the predecessors, which I found to be pretty silly. James Caan said it best "There's no way I'll get into that silly suit."

It'd have to have a response like Batman Begins to get me into the theatre. At this point, I'm not even planning on renting the DVD.

What I'm worried about is that they'll make it a chick-flick like they did Spiderman.

Spiderman, the comics, always had a healthy dose of Peter's personal life in them. Mary Jane was always present, and still there was action. They kept all this in the film, which is why it's brilliant.

I was never a fan of Batman, and would personally like to see Superman kick his ass. But then again, I'm not a fan of Superman either. I mean, the guy is sooo old school. He's indestructible and only has one weakness. How fun is that? How many times can he be exposed to kryptonite and still keeping it fresh?
