    Test screening tonight

Tonight, 1 week before the premiere, I finally get to watch a nearly 100% completed version of the movie on the big screen.

This film should sound fantastic as I have done a complete 5.1 Surround mix of the movie from top to bottom, the mix is pretty much solid aside from some tweaks, and then all next week i will spend making small little cuts and trims here and there.

The semi total running time is 87 minutes as of 10/18/2008.

Hope it's all you expected and more, especially with all the long hours and hard work you put into it!

    UPDATE:

well it is 4:20am, and I just walked in the door. We screened the movie and all I can say is WOW. I mean I knew Deadlands 2 was better from a technical stand point compared to Deadlands: The Rising, but my god, I was in awe/shock seeing it blown up on the 40ft screen. The film looked so good, I mean I can't even describe how good it looked, lets just say it looked like a REAL freaking movie.

During the screening I noted about 40-50 glitches that need fixing, including a 2 second shot that was completely missing for some reason, audio was there but not the picture. I also need to brighten it up a tad as it was a bit dark for a good portion of the movie, so I will add a 4% brightness grade to it to help that.

The Audio.... Holy shhhhhhiiiiiiieeeeet, the theaters Dolby Digital System had all 14 speakers pounding the audio. The mix was phenomenal. I think the audio impressed me the most considering I spent the least amount of time on it. The Visual FX looked, decent, and the Zombie Carnage was nice on the big screen.

I know a majority of you can't make it to the H10 for the premiere next Saturday, but when you do finally get to see this on DVD you are going to be as happy as I am on the overall improvement this film is over Deadlands: The Rising.

I am going to start taking orders for Critical Screeners starting November 1st. If you own a website (Horror/Entertainment) and want to review the film, please email me at deadlandsthemovie@yahoo.com. Include your websites web address and your contact information and iinclude where I would need to ship the Screener.

Well, I am bringing it back. Thanks to MZ. From now on, in honor of a lost term for something awesome, Cool Beans will be returned to my vocbulary for things that are totally awesome.

    Cool Beans.

But it does bring up questions... what is so cool about beans? and what kind of beans are cool?

I only like Green Beans, so they would be the only cool beans in my opinion.

    Nice!
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Then I guess you can chalk it all up to a good "mission accomplished" then, eh?

Well Bassman, I would, but, I think I will wait and see what the audiences reaction to it is on Saturday Night.

I am Happy with it. I felt it has exceeded my expectations, but I also realize even though it is an improvement over the first film, I still need to work harder at a few things on the technical side, and I am already doing that by taking some writing classes and an acting one so I can understand how to be a better director and a better writer.
