    Serial kill - Richard Chase

    Talk about warning signals....

note: The wiki article doesn't mention a lot of the odd things he was caught doing before he started killing people!

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. From the article:

He was nicknamed "The Vampire of Sacramento" because he drank his victims' blood and cannibalized their remains. He did this as part of a delusion that he needed to prevent Nazis from turning his blood into powder via poison they had planted beneath his soap dish.

He would also hold oranges on his head, believing the Vitamin C would be absorbed by his brain via diffusion.

This is interesting because I was watching a documentary on Chase last week and then about two days later, I saw some paranormal programme on Living TV (can't remember the name) where they tried to contact his spirit.

Yeah, the guy was seriously messed up.

Oh! That supernatural series seems bad!? 'Conversation with a Serial Killer' or something like that?

That's the one! The programme wasn't all that bad actually because it had interviews with a number of people that knew Chase personally (all the ghost hunting bits are complete tripe, of course). The Boston Strangler episode was quite good as it happens.

Freaky weirdo. Funny thing, I remember back in Jr. High a few of the kids were passing around a Hustler Magazine back in the day that had an feature article about Richard Chase. At the time, I thought that this was just a made up story since it seemed to weird to be real!

I remember him. He was discussed and analyzed in a few of my classes when I was working on my B.S. in C.J..

Well, it was Jr. High, so naturally our main focus was not the literature contained therein.

I would love to say that we were into the trippy, far out comics and the general anti-establishment vibe of the magazine, but I don't think anyone would buy those excuses either!
