Yep. TDK kicks all kinds of ass.

    This deserves a little dance!

I still think Batman Begins is the better film of the 2, but TDK is definitely better than...

    BATMAN RETURNS
    BATMAN FOREVER
    BATMAN & ROBIN

While Heath is a better all around Joker, the first Tim Burton Batman was just a lot of fun.

I still think that Tommy Lee Jones' Harvey Dent/Two Face is better than Aaron Eckhart's.

Why blu-ray! WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!! People are zombies. They see an advert on tv and think, "oh, I guess my existence will cease unless I purchase this product as soon as possible!" Makes me sick, and sad...

Ummmm.....like it or not, Blu Ray/High Definition is the next step up. Everyone will one day have them just like they do now with regular DVD. I haven't upgraded yet because the price is too steep for my liking, but one day it will be affordable to everyone, much like DVD.

You remind me of those people that used to say DVD was a waste and it's no better than VHS. BR isn't as large of a step as that was, but it is obviously better. Just too high priced right now.

Well done for TDK, says I.

I've got the SD-DVD, and I'm fine with that. I don't have a big enough telly to make high-def have any purpose whatsoever, and nor am I one of those bandwagon jumpers who leap from wagon to wagon at the drop of a hat, heck, you chaps should know that from both of my "VHS" short films.

High-def will take longer to catch on I think, and I do object to the undercurrent of "the current format is totally sh*t, even though we said it was awesome just a couple of years ago, but buy this really expensive, brand new crap that'll be out-of-date pretty quick and then you'll wish you'd just waited a little longer, saved up the money, and bought a better player when you decided to dip your toe in the water according to your own schedule, and not according to the whims of some advertising bastards who are overjoyed at the chance to deep-throat products into your body like a giddy serpent" ... *gasp* ... I've been watching a lot of Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe lately.

I notice how no one disputes my remark that people are zombies...
We really need to put out that new album before it's too late!

I wonder what the highest selling Betamax cassette title was...

So people are zombies because they purchase a new (good) movie? That doesn't really count as one of the things that make people zombies, imo.
New album? You mean your band, The Gorillaz? I couldn't help meself....

Aces - I don't know what the highest selling Betamax was, but I bet Sony sure was glad to win the HD war after losing that VHS/Betamax war...

Hehe, that didn't even cross my mind...hell, I wasn't aware of the original 'players' in the VHS/Betamax tangle. Good point, Bassman.

Yes... what other band am I in?
But seriously, why do people feel the need to purchase something they've already seen, and in all likelihood will only watch 2-5 more times until completely forgetting about it? You can't watch movies with no electricity, and you can't make a fire without burning some houses.

I dispute it. I am a cinemaphile and while I prefer HD-DVD is Blu-Gay gives me my movie fix in HD then so be it. I am a sucker for quality sound and video and DVD just doesn't cut it anymore.

So we should not buy things that we like? Is that what you're saying?

Yesterday I found a cool deck of cards with a Dawn of the Dead motife. I bought it? Am I a zombie?
