controversy around david or stephen line ?

im watching dawn right now and contrary to what people are saying, gaylen doesnt say "david" its like a mash up of stephen and david. odd i know......but thats what i heard

Problem is, with something like this you can never be sure. All you can tell is that somewhere between the words on paper in 1977 and the words coming through your TV set and being decoded by your brain in 2010, something got smudged. And that's a lot of ground there. Probably she said "Steven" with a weird intonation, or she said "Stevid" because she got mixed up as she said it, or the mic picked it up weird, or it was a blip on the audio recording tape, or anything really. Personally, I think it's the former. She's upset in that scene (if we're all talking about the same scene), and she says his name with a sort of pining cry that blurs the phonemes together a little.

I think it is the scene where Fran wakes Stephen up after Peter and Roger take off into the bowels of the mall, and turn the mall music on. Pretty much right after they enter the mall I believe, maybe 20 minutes after?
