Capn Dallow

After a recent incident the management here (myself and neil) thought it was time for the super moderator capn dallow to leave HpotD and he has been removed accordingly. We have a policy here of not discussing what has happened with any banned member except with the parties involved and this is no exception. At the moment, we are not considering recruiting a replacement super moderator as we feel our current team are not being put under any pressure by capn's departure.

Holy cow... one of the best mods here and you let him (Brett) go???? What is up with that??? You should be reconsidering the ban, Brett is well liked here by the members and he does his job well, that's more than you can say for some, me included. I believe this is a good site to be on.. what is going on here lately? I drop out for alittle while and bam the ban hammer goes down. All I can say is BRING BACK BRETT!!!

Not only that but it seems a tad immature to totally delete someone. Like when you break up with someone and trash everything they ever gave you? He must've done something pretty bad.

as much as i like the guy, i guess we can't question their logic. it's their site,guys. we're just visitors. but since he's gone,doesn't that mean my non expiring warning from him is gone as well?

Unfortunatly ace is right, beleive me brett was a very close friend of mine (off the forums too) and this decision was not taken lightly or over frivalous circumstances, i did not get any sleep the night that i had to ban brett but i was placed in a impossible situation. I wish i could go into detail over what happened with you guys and set out the whole story but we have a very strict non-disclosure policy regarding banned members and we cant make an exception, as much as i would like to. Regrettably, i see very little chance of this being revised or overturned.

Believe me, these two guys are/were extremely close friends in real life. I am intensely disappointed that this situation has arisen. I really don't want to get involved in any of the conflict, as I consider both Andy and Capn to be my friends off the forums as well as on and I don't want to jeapordise that, I can only hope that there will eventually be some peaceful resolution between Capn, Andy and HPotD, if such a thing is possible

Very sorry to hear this. Don't have a basis to second-guess the ban decision, not knowing the reason for it, but I've got to say that deleting all his old posts reminds me of nothing more than people who fell out of favor with Stalin getting airbrushed out of photos of May Day parades and whatnot.
