I don't have the TV, my folks do. The TV I use most often to watch is a much cheaper, lower quality LCD that isn't HD ready. The one upstairs in my room is a CRT that still works just fine. So in order to make BR worthwhile, I'd have to buy at least 32" of telly, preferably 37" - and I simply can't afford that. That's a good £500-£600, and that's not even buying Sony or Panasonic. So sod off am I spending the best part of a grand just to watch a couple of BR's ... don't be silly. When the telly conks out, then maybe we can think of getting a fancier telly and have BR possibly in mind - but until then - what an unnecessary waste of money and perfectly working TVs.

I echoed exactly everything you said a few years ago myself, so I was in the same boat too (aside from the fact I already had the TV, just not the BR & HD-DVD players). It wasn't until Dj forced the HD-DVD player on me for my b-day that I realized "wow, this is totally worth it" Just know that when the time comes, it ain't rocket science. It is pretty straight-forward. Just like anything else, it's good to read up on it a bit and get a good idea what you're getting into, but it's really not as bad as most think - that is unless you're trying to go for a completely top-of-the-line setup and I'm not sure many - if any - of us can afford that. So I guess you'll wait around until you can buy an air-powered television? (yes! I got a Zombie Man quote in there! ZING! ) PS - don't you dare spend your money on "premium" HDMI cables when that time comes either, or Dj and I will go all Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back on you and show up at your doorstep.
