    Tattoos

I was just wondering if anyone else on the forum has any. Also, if they do what they are and if it has any meaning behind them.

    I have two..

A star of David on my chest. Since I'm well. Jewish. The symbol in the middle is supposed to be Chai for life. Everyone asks me why I have Pi or my favorite a Rhino on my chest.

I tell them Jewish Rhinos' are the best. It didn't hurt too bad except for the top part which is pretty close to my collar bone.

    The second one

It's a Latin phrase attributed to General Hannibal during the Second Punic War. When told his Elephants were not going to cross the Alps. Thats the phrase he supposidly said. "aut viam invenam aut faciam" Which is pretty much "If I can't find a way I'll make one." Which I've taken as a sort of personal Motto.

The Pain? Well it sorta felt like I was giving birth on my side.

    Anyone Else?

made it through 4 years of active duty with the Marines and somehow made it out without getting inked.

at one time, right after i got out, i was thinking of having the eagle, globe, and anchor (emblem of the Marine Corps) put on my chest, but declined.

also toyed with the idea of having two calvins (from calvin and hobbes), one an angel and one a devil, playing tug of war with a heart. was going to get this across my shoulders, but again, decided to opt out.

made it almost 30 years without a tat, doubt i'll ever bother with getting one.

I have this tattooed on my right inner forearm:

A tigers head on the top of my left arm.

And if you look at this flash sheet below, I have the big face in the bottom left corner tattooed on my right arm. It takes up most of the space up there, it's a big one. If I could afford it, I'd be covered in them.

I'll take some proper pictures of them and post them. I love tattoos.

Have always wanted one, but have never been able to decide what I'm willing to live with forever.

My dad told me once that a tattoo is the best investment one could ever make because it is indeed the only thing you'll take with you to the grave.

Have a Native American Bear on my right chest a little similar to this:

but just a plain black line drawing I did myself. Wanted it to look kind of like a cave painting almost. Kind of primitive. Got it on the Winter Solstice of '07.

Want to get another on my left chest in the same style, similar to this:

going to trace my own right hand & use it as the template, & then draw it from there.

Meaning? Yes. There is. Or was. Or is. Can't decide.

DevilDog would be so disappointed. ;-)

They're all a little obscured by the stupid flash.

If you don't know what this one is then you're not... well, a nerd.

A comic book-esque zombie graveyard scene that's been unfinished for about 6 or 7 years now.

A gas mask with battle axes on the shoulder and EDDIE below it.

A tree of souls, from an HP Lovecraft book, drawn by Michael Whalen.

Another piece from HP Lovecraft, drawn by Michael Whalen.

Gnarly skull[et] with the B.O.C. cross of questioning below it.

    Chaos star on my elbow.

Wow, you guys have some cool ink!

I especially like the tree of souls you have, Mike. That's pretty wicked.

Thank you, sir. I wish the flash didn't make the pile of skulls at the bottom nearly disappear!

No worries, I can see what's there. It's a tad washed out due to the flash, but I can see it. I love tattoo designs like that, and I love the subject matter of that one in particular. Very cool.

I really want to get this as my next tattoo. It says I'm going to eat you, but i'm still sophisticated enough to listen to classical music
