"Stake Land" (apocalyptic vampire flick) sounds good!

Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. That does sound good. I'm sick of MTV vampires.

One of the characters is named Martin. A nod, you think?

So... it's like if 30 Days of Night... had a baby with Day of the Dead?

    That actually sounds pretty cool.

As long as the vamps don't sparkle...
    Those aren't real problems, Sam.

Meh. It's all in the execution, I would think. I know some of you guys like John Carpenter's Vampires, but it was a bit too meatball for me and this could easily go in the same direction.

Danielle Harris sounds plenty good, though.

This does not sound good at all. The reviewer writes of "originality" in vampire films and follows this by describing a film that uses every vampire and zombie cliche in the book. "Stake Land"? Really?

"They also have access to planes and helicopters, which the use to fly over camps of human and drop vampires into their midst for a nasty slaughter."

    FAIL

"a pregnant singer named Belle (Danielle Harris)."

    EPIC FAIL

And so begins the 'pretty girl would you like to see my big chopper gags'...
