right now forever, 1 stick and 1 coal makes a stack of 4, with 64 per stack. Notch talked about replacing them with lanterns and making torches need relighting with flint and tinder but he put that on hold in favour of new things like a bed you sleep in that makes it instantly morning. useful for when you dont want to spend an hour in the dark with this at your window going "let me in bro SSSssssssss...."

Wonder what this other game is going to be like they're now working on!?
Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar," every "supreme leader," every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there--on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. Broke down and bought it...and I haven't had it generate a world that I'm all that crazy about yet though. The game is good though...Those exploding creepers have screwed me up like 2 or 3 times because the daylight doesn't get rid of them...

I guess a HPOTD Minecraft town would be a bad idea...it'd be fun and all until someone got pissed at someone else from the board and blocked up that person's house after filling it with lava.

I would hope that wouldn't happen. Im in for it, if anyone can figure out how to do it. . . . . the town, not the destruction.
